Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly 2face, visited the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, to introduce a new initiative aimed at young people.
The singer shared news of the visit in an Instagram post on Saturday.
According to him, the meeting focused on a programme that plans to use music and culture to influence young Nigerians in a positive way.
“I had the honour of meeting with Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Defence, General CG Musa, alongside my strategic team to explore how music can help counter violent narratives among young Nigerians,” he wrote.
“During the meeting, I unveiled a culture-driven initiative that uses music as a tool for youth reorientation, promoting positive values and transforming entertainment into a force for social impact.”
The artiste added that the programme is meant to encourage conversations among young people, support creative talents, and help direct the energy of Nigeria’s large youth population toward activities that promote national development.
“With over 150 million young people in Nigeria and many vulnerable to negative influences, initiatives like this are important to spark meaningful conversations, empower creative talent, and channel youth energy toward nation-building,” he added.
Although he did not reveal the official name of the initiative or when it will start, the meeting shows his continued interest in youth development.
In 2017, 2Baba also launched the ‘Vote Not Fight’ campaign in partnership with the Youngstars Foundation and the National Democratic Institute to encourage peaceful participation during elections.
