Why I Am Not Married At 54 And — Nollywood Actress

Popular Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed why she remains unmarried at the age of 54.

In a recent interview with her colleague Emmanuel Ehumadu, Akintola disclosed that she is still single because her soulmate passed away. She emphasized her reluctance to marry someone who is not fully committed to lifelong vows.

The veteran actress shared:
“He died… I don’t talk about it, but he died. Do you know how long it took me to find him? A very long time, but he is gone.

“I don’t believe in getting married just for the sake of marriage. If you are not going to be truthful to your vows, then why are you doing it? The person I could have done forever with is gone.

“I’m not saying you can’t have two or three loves in your lifetime, but do you know how long it took me to find that one person I knew I could stay with?”

However, the actress acknowledged that she is open to remarriage if she finds someone she can envision spending the rest of her life with, regardless of her age.

She added:
“If I ever meet someone and I see forever with that person, I will do it—even if I am 82. But I won’t do it unless I find that person.

“I can’t stress myself out for anything. Do you know how difficult marriage is? It is very difficult. Why would I go into it with someone I know I can’t do forever with?”

Bimbo Akintola made her acting debut in the film Owo Blow in 1995 alongside Femi Adebayo. She followed it up with Out of Bounds in 1997, where she starred with Richard Mofe-Damijo.

Her exceptional talent earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards
