We sell ordinary body parts for N20,000 and hands or limbs for N50,000 – Taiwo Yemitan confess

Taiwo Yemitan, who was recently arrested along with his twin brother, Kehinde, for luring and killing a young girl for ritual purposes in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has explained how they carried out their crimes as serial killers.

In an exclusive audio recording obtained by the Head of Investigation, Kunle Akinrinade, Taiwo described how they planned and executed the abduction and murder of their most recent victim. He also explained how he was caught while trying to sell the victim’s head for N100,000.

According to a report by The Nigerian Tribune, Taiwo and Kehinde Yemitan are 47-year-old twin brothers. In Yoruba culture, twins are usually seen as a symbol of good luck and blessings. However, instead of bringing honor to their family, these twins have caused shame. They have been accused of leading a kidnapping group that kills its victims, dismembers their bodies, and sells the parts for rituals and for making magic soaps believed to bring wealth.

Apart from their involvement in these crimes, the twins also worked as carpenters and herbalists. Their latest victim was a young girl named Darasimi. They tricked her into coming to their hideout in the Premier area of Abeokuta, where they killed her and cut up her body to sell and use for ritual purposes.

Their criminal activities came to an end a few weeks ago. The Ogun State Police Command, working with other security agencies, arrested Taiwo and another suspect named Kazeem on December 22, 2024, for the murder and dismemberment of Darasimi. Kehinde, however, managed to escape.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed that the brothers had lured Darasimi, who was a sex worker, to their house in Abeokuta, where they killed her.

In the audio recording, Taiwo confessed to the crime and explained how they had been killing people for ritual purposes. He said that after killing their victims, they would dismember the bodies and sell the parts to people who used them for money-making rituals.

Explaining their dastardly activities further, Taiwo said, “We sell ordinary body parts for N20,000 and hands or limbs for N50,000. It was the same amount we sold Darasimi’s hand for. We sell a leg for N50,000, while the heart goes for N100,000.”
