A tragic incident has occurred in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, where a police inspector, Lawal Ibrahim, from the Kwali Division, was discovered dead in a hotel room.
Reports reveal that Inspector Ibrahim met a woman online, identified as Maryam Abba, who hails from Dutse in Jigawa State. After three months of virtual communication, he invited her to meet in person at Palasa Guest Inn. The incident took place last Thursday.
Eyewitness accounts state that the two checked into the hotel on Wednesday evening and reportedly engaged in intimate activities. The situation took a tragic turn the following morning around 6 a.m. when Ibrahim began to show signs of distress. After another intimate encounter, he reportedly exhibited erratic breathing and subsequently became unresponsive.
Realizing that something was wrong, Maryam attempted to revive Ibrahim by sprinkling water on him, but her efforts were unsuccessful. Panicking, she notified the hotel manager, Danlami Palasa, who immediately contacted the local police. Officers from the Gwagwalada Division arrived at the scene and found Ibrahim deceased in the hotel room. His body was transported to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital for formal examination, where medical personnel confirmed his death.
In the wake of this unfortunate incident, authorities recovered several items from the hotel room, including a watermelon, a substance suspected to be an aphrodisiac, a phone charger, and the inspector’s police identification card. Maryam Abba has since been taken into custody, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Ibrahim’s death.
A police representative from the Gwagwalada Division confirmed the incident, emphasizing that the ongoing investigation aims to uncover the cause of death and any potential foul play.
