The Nigerian Police Command has arrested two individuals suspected of being involved in the murder of an Uber driver, identified as Dantes, in a region of Nigeria.
According to reports, the suspects initially hired a commercial sex worker before requesting the services of the Uber driver to take them to their destination. While en route, the suspects reportedly strangled the driver with a rope, disposed of his body outside the vehicle, and drove off in the car.
In a video update, the police confirmed that the two suspects had been apprehended.
When the commercial sex worker was paraded by the police, she provided additional details. She explained that the driver had asked the suspects for his remaining balance, which led one of them to strangle him with a rope, killing him. In her account, which was translated from pidgin, she further revealed, “After they disposed of the man, they took me to a nearby bush, took my phone, and instructed me to lie down. Once I complied, they left me alone.”
The investigation into the incident continues as the police work to piece together more details of the crime. The actions of the suspects have sparked outrage, raising concerns about safety in the area.
