A tragic incident in Abuja has left many in shock, as a young woman, Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, was found dead in a hotel room on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa.
The incident occurred on Monday, June 16, 2025. According to the FCT Police Command, Tessy had checked into the hotel with an unidentified man. Hours later, hotel staff discovered her unconscious, tied up, and in critical condition. Despite efforts to save her life, she was confirmed dead by medical professionals.
A disturbing video showing the aftermath quickly went viral online, sparking widespread concern over rising hotel-related crimes.
Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed that CP Ajao Adewale, the Commissioner of Police, has ordered a full and discreet investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest the mystery man seen entering the hotel with Tessy.
In the meantime, the police are urging the public—especially young women—to remain vigilant when visiting unknown places or meeting people for the first time. CP Adewale also advised hotel managers to tighten security, verify guest identities, and ensure CCTV surveillance is fully operational.
The FCT Police Command extended condolences to Tessy’s grieving family and promised to share updates as the investigation unfolds.
