I’m Struggling With Respiratory Issues. I Just Came From My Doctor — Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Ejimakor

According to our report, Aloy Ejimakor, the lawyer representing detained IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed that he is currently battling serious respiratory problems following his detention by security agents in Abuja.

Speaking in an interview with Symfoni TV, Ejimakor said he began experiencing breathing difficulties after police officers allegedly deployed tear gas inside the detention facility, even though the detainees were already in custody.

“One of the tear gas canisters exploded very close to me. I inhaled large volumes of the fumes, and since then, my lungs and voice have been affected. I just came from my doctor, and that’s the diagnosis,” he explained.

Ejimakor described the experience as deeply traumatic, recounting that he and 12 others were locked inside a small 14-by-12-foot cell with a single toilet, no space to lie down, and no communication with the outside world.

He revealed that he has since been placed on intravenous treatment and continues to struggle with the after-effects of the tear gas exposure.

“It’s a disturbing experience no one should ever go through,” he said.
