PDP suspends National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu and three others for one month

According to our report, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four of its top national officers for alleged anti-party activities, deepening the tension within the opposition camp.

In a statement released after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) on Saturday, November 1, the party announced a one-month suspension for National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, National Legal Adviser, Kamal Deen Ajibade (SAN), and Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha.

The PDP said the action followed a review of recent internal activities that reportedly violated the party’s constitution.

“Anybody who brings the party into disrepute or disobeys lawful directives is liable to disciplinary action,” stated National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

During the suspension, the Deputy National Secretary, Hon. Setonji Koshedo, will serve as Acting National Secretary, while the Director of Legal Services takes charge of the legal department pending investigation.

Party insiders say the move is part of a broader effort to restore discipline and unity ahead of the next national convention — but it also signals that the internal power struggle within the PDP is far from over.
