According to our report, veteran Nollywood actor Ebun Olorunjuwon Oloyede, widely known as Olaiya Igwe, has finally broken his silence over the viral video where he appeared half-naked while campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking on the Behind The Fame podcast on Saturday, November 1, 2025, Olaiya Igwe clarified that his public support for Tinubu was not driven by financial gain. He stated clearly that he never demanded or received money in exchange for his actions.
“If I did what I did for Bola Ahmed Tinubu because of money, you would have seen me insulting him online,” the actor said. “Till today, I’ve never asked him for money. President Tinubu had already helped me before that time.”
According to our findings, Olaiya Igwe’s loyalty is rooted in a personal story — years ago, when he was battling kidney disease, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, now the First Lady, stepped in and supported his medical treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. She even offered to assist him in getting further treatment abroad.
Grateful for her kindness, Olaiya Igwe described the experience as “life-changing,” saying he would remain thankful to the Tinubu family forever.
