According to our report, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police Force to investigate Anambra State Governor and APGA governorship candidate, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, over his pledge of cash rewards to party supporters tied to ward performance in next Saturday’s election.
APC National Secretary Ajibola Bashiru described Soludo’s promise as a “reflection of desperation and lack of confidence,” arguing that it undermines electoral integrity and called for a formal probe into APGA’s campaign finances.
Soludo had announced monetary incentives during a rally in Orumba South, with top-performing wards set to receive up to N5 million. However, Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, dismissed the claims, insisting the pledge was meant to boost voter turnout, not buy votes, and highlighted widespread voluntary community support for Soludo’s re-election.
