According to our report, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, Reverend John Hayab, has revisited one of the darkest moments in Nigeria’s religious history — the 2002 Miss World riot.
Speaking during an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Rev. Hayab revealed that many Christians were brutally killed during the chaos, including his guest preacher, Reverend Niyi, who had ministered in his church, Rahama English Baptist Church, just a day before the tragedy.
He recalled that Niyi was burnt to death the very next day, his body so charred that it looked like that of a small child. Hayab lamented that most of the victims had no link to the article that triggered the riot, yet paid with their lives for a conflict they never caused.
