According to our report, former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has opened up about his family and life after retiring in 2024. In an exclusive interview with The Punch, Ariwoola described himself as a fulfilled man blessed with a supportive family.
He revealed he has one wife and five children—three daughters and two sons. One son has followed in his footsteps as a judge, while a daughter works as Senior Registrar at the FCT Customary Court of Appeal. His children have pursued diverse paths abroad: the eldest daughter is in the US, the second son studies in Washington DC, and his youngest daughter, a graduate in Environmental Health Sciences, supports her older sister who recently had triplets. His wife has been in Canada with them.
Reflecting on his career, Ariwoola emphasized that family remained central even amid the pressures of serving as Nigeria’s 18th CJN.
