In a video shared on Facebook on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, issued a strong message to Nigerian authorities, insisting that state governors must be held accountable for the growing wave of killings and insecurity across the country.
He declared, “The governors should be questioned about what is happening,” accusing some of them of failing to take decisive action to protect citizens from terrorists, kidnappers, and violent attacks.
According to Ayodele, many leaders have remained silent while lives are being lost daily, a situation he described as both dangerous and shameful. He warned that governors’ negligence could worsen the security crisis if not urgently addressed.
The cleric added that while political and military responses are necessary, spiritual and moral leadership must not be ignored, stressing that true stability begins with responsible governance.
“If those in charge refuse to act, insecurity will consume more states and the nation will pay the price,” he cautioned.
Ayodele concluded by urging Nigerians to demand transparency and accountability from their leaders, warning that the failure to do so could lead to deeper chaos and loss of national peace.
