In a recent interview on Channels TV, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, urged President Bola Tinubu to immediately engage in diplomatic talks with U.S. President Donald Trump amid rising tensions over Nigeria’s security situation.
Adeboye recommended that Nigeria request a 100-day grace period before any external intervention, allowing the government time to implement effective measures against terrorism, banditry, and insecurity. He stressed that this window is not symbolic, but a crucial opportunity to demonstrate accountability and tangible results.
The cleric emphasized a respectful yet firm negotiation, warning that failure to act promptly could invite punitive measures. Adeboye urged that the diplomatic efforts be matched with decisive internal action, ensuring citizens are protected while maintaining Nigeria’s sovereignty and international credibility.
He concluded: “Open diplomatic dialogue with President Trump and request a 100-day grace period before any possible international action against Nigeria.”
