Chioma Ifemeludike, the actress and filmmaker popularly known as IfeDike, has extended a warm invitation to the voters who supported her in the recent Anambra governorship election.

Contesting under the African Action Congress (AAC), IfeDike secured a total of 292 votes across 5,718 polling units in the state.

Although her tally placed her far behind the incumbent governor, Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who emerged victorious with a commanding 422,664 votes, IfeDike chose to celebrate her small but loyal base of supporters rather than dwell on the outcome.

Taking to her social media platform X, the actress expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who stood by her campaign, extending a personal invitation to share a meal with her. “Dear 292 Solidarity voters, when can we have lunch, wine and hug? I can’t wait. Thank you. I love you,” she wrote, highlighting her desire to connect personally with each of her supporters.

The actress’s political journey was anchored in grassroots engagement and practical social programs. As a former female unionist and AAC chairperson, IfeDike’s campaign focused on community-centered policies, including the introduction of solar energy solutions, subsidized education, and strengthened state security. She leveraged her background and experience to present herself as a candidate deeply connected to the everyday realities of Anambra residents.

While her foray into politics attracted attention, IfeDike is also widely recognized for her creative work in film and digital media. She first gained prominence with the YouTube series Corpers Heaven, inspired by her own National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) experience, which resonated with many young Nigerians navigating similar challenges.

Over the years, she has built a reputation as a producer and filmmaker dedicated to telling authentic stories within the Igbo cultural context. Her portfolio includes films such as Painful Truth, Commissioner for Happiness, Mortuary Gate, Plantain Girl, and Made in Heaven. These works have established her as a prominent figure in Nollywood’s regional film scene and underscored her commitment to producing content that entertains while reflecting societal issues.

Despite the modest results of her gubernatorial bid, IfeDike’s approach to her supporters underscores a genuine appreciation for community engagement and personal connection. By inviting them to a casual lunch, she is signaling that her relationship with the electorate extends beyond politics and votes, emphasizing solidarity, gratitude, and shared experiences.

For IfeDike, the election may have been a learning experience, but her dedication to both her craft and her political vision demonstrates resilience and an enduring commitment to the people she seeks to represent. Through her combined efforts in film and public service, she continues to inspire those who see her as both a cultural ambassador and an emerging political voice.

With this unique gesture, the actress-turned-politician has shown that even small victories—like earning the trust and support of a few hundred loyal voters—can be celebrated with warmth, humility, and a sense of personal connection.
