According to our report, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have crushed another Boko Haram plot after rescuing 86 kidnapped civilians along the Damaturu–Buratai–Biu highway in Borno State. The victims, mostly travellers, were ambushed by insurgents who reportedly began separating captives — starting with young girls.
One survivor revealed that the terrorists planned to “marry them off or use them for their cause,” while others recalled being beaten and forced to lie face down. But the militants’ plans collapsed when soldiers from the 135 Special Forces Battalion stormed the area, engaged the fighters, and destroyed 11 of their makeshift camps.
The operation also led to the recovery of weapons, vehicles, and motorcycles. In a separate raid, 29 suspects supplying fuel, food, and medical items to terrorists were arrested. Military authorities praised the troops’ swift response, calling it a major blow to insurgents in the North East.
