Christian Genocide: The Sultan should be concerned about Boko Haram members being Muslims–Dahiru

According to our report, Dr. Majeed Dahiru has called on Nigeria’s Muslim leaders to address violence carried out by extremist groups within their demographic, rather than deflecting criticism. Speaking on Nigeria Info FM, he responded to the NSCIA’s demand that U.S. President Donald Trump retract comments on reports of Christian genocide.

Dahiru emphasized that Boko Haram and bandit groups responsible for widespread killings are predominantly Muslim. “Nigeria is battling insecurity that emanates from your own demography,” he stated, urging Muslim leadership to prioritize reforms that curb radicalization and jihadist indoctrination.

He singled out the Sultan of Sokoto, stressing that the office should lead efforts to roll back extremism and protect communities. Dahiru criticized current leadership for avoiding uncomfortable truths, warning that ignoring the problem only deepens insecurity and undermines national cohesion.
