Security guard found d3ad at workplace in Osun, police begin probe

The Osun State Police Command has begun a probe into the circumstances surrounding the d3ath of a guard, Basiru Aminu, who was found d3ad at his place of work at the Oke Ola area of Igbaye, Osun State.

 

Aminu’s motionless body was found early at 7am on Tuesday by some people, who reported the matter to the police.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer of Osun Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, who confirmed the incident said police did not find marks of violence on the body of the deceased.

 

“It was a sudden and natural death. The incident happened at Oke-Ola in Igbaye. They saw him, Basiru Aminu, lying d3ad this morning at his workplace. He is a security man,” the PPRO said. 

 

“One Fasasi Adebowale called the brother of the deceased to inform him of the incident. The matter was reported, and the police went there to check if there was any mark of violence, but there was no such thing.

 

“Nevertheless, the investigation is still ongoing. On our own part, an autopsy might be conducted.” 

 

The incident, which reportedly caused panic across the community, sparked off different insinuations regarding the cause of the d3ath.

 

While some residents claimed the deceased might have been strangled, others opined that sudden health complications could have led to the d3ath of the 38-year-old guard.

 

“I was among the first set of people who arrived at the scene. We met his motionless body, and we immediately contacted the police. They came and evacuated the body. It was a sad development. People are already insinuating that the man was k!lled,” a business owner in Oke Ola told punch.

 

Another resident of Igbaye, simply identified as Risikat, who said the deceased was known to her, said the police probe would eventually unravel the mystery behind Aminu’s death, adding that sudden health complications could be responsible.
