Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo has called on the Nigerian government to take stronger action in protecting Christian communities across the Middle Belt, following a series of violent attacks by suspected armed herdsmen.
Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, Rev. Dachomo expressed deep concern over what he described as the persistent neglect of vulnerable villages in the region. He said, “Allow us just one day in Ruga, and they will understand the strength of Christians,” emphasizing that his statement was a call for justice, not violence.
According to him, many communities have faced repeated invasions and killings without adequate government protection, leaving residents frustrated and fearful. He lamented that Christians have shown restraint despite years of provocation, urging authorities to act decisively before tensions escalate further.
Rev. Dachomo also identified Ruga as one of the flashpoints of ongoing conflicts, saying it symbolizes broader issues of territorial aggression and insecurity. He warned that continued inaction could push affected communities toward desperate measures of self-defense.
The cleric appealed to the government and international bodies to address the situation transparently, ensure accountability for attacks, and restore confidence among residents who have long felt abandoned.
