Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a senior cleric with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) and a vocal human rights advocate, has revealed that members of Boko Haram have placed a bounty on his head over his persistent criticism of banditry and terrorism in Nigeria.
In an interview with News Central TV, Dachomo said he was warned to stop speaking out against the ongoing violence or face death. According to him, the insurgent group promised a monetary reward to anyone who succeeds in killing him.
Despite the threats, the Plateau-based pastor declared that he remains undeterred. He said his courage comes from his faith in Jesus Christ, who strengthens him to continue demanding peace and justice for Nigerians affected by insecurity.
“Even the Boko Haram, their meeting I am aware of it. They have put money on my head; if anybody kills me, he has a price. Seven days have passed. I also have my seven days through prayers and fasting in the Lord Jesus,” he said.
Dachomo added that he has chosen to rely on divine protection rather than fear, urging Nigerians not to be silent in the face of injustice.
