Rev. Ezekiel has recounted a horrifying attack during a burial ceremony in a rural community, revealing that suspected Fulani assailants violently disrupted the gathering and that he personally had a bounty placed on his head. In an interview with New Central TV, he described how mourners were peacefully gathered before the attackers suddenly arrived, causing panic and scattering those in attendance.
The clergyman described the incident as deeply traumatic, highlighting the level of brutality inflicted on the victims. One of the most devastating moments, he said, was witnessing a pregnant woman being attacked. “We were at a burial, the Fulani came and they put a sword through a pregnant woman’s stomach,” Ezekiel stated, underscoring the cruelty of the assault.
He also revealed that he is aware of a purported meeting where a reward was promised for anyone who would harm him, saying, “I know about B’Haram meeting—they placed a bounty on my head, promising a reward for anyone.”
Rev. Ezekiel urged security agencies to intervene urgently and protect vulnerable communities from further attacks. He also called for swift government action to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended, stressing that repeated assaults continue to instill fear and destabilize rural settlements.
