Prophet Primate Ayodele has issued a stern caution to President Bola Tinubu and Central Bank Governor Yemi Cardoso, warning against the introduction of new high-denomination naira notes.
In a prophetic message, Ayodele stated that printing higher-value currency could have serious consequences for the government and the nation’s economy. “Don’t print money. If you print money your government will fail,” he said.
He specifically referenced the proposed denominations under consideration, including the 5,000, 10,000, and 20,000 naira notes. Addressing President Tinubu and Governor Cardoso directly, he insisted, “Don’t try it. Don’t approve it. President, don’t try it. Don’t approve it.”
Ayodele emphasized that while the negative effects of such a move might not be immediately apparent, they would unfold over time. “You are not hearing now, but later you will hear,” he warned, highlighting potential risks to economic stability.
The message reflects Ayodele’s deep concern about the direction of monetary policy, urging the nation’s leadership to avoid introducing higher denominations that could undermine governance and financial stability.
