Richard Obudu, a resident of the Guto community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), narrowly escaped being shot when gunmen attacked a neighbouring house recently. According to a report by Premium Times on November 23, 2025, the incident occurred near the home of Mr Paul, a personnel of the State Security Service (SSS).
Obudu described the terrifying moment he noticed the gunmen. While investigating a light he saw from the toilet, he slowly opened a window and spotted one of the attackers holding a gun. “The moment he saw the window, he fired three shots directly at me,” Obudu recounted, adding that he luckily dropped to the ground without injury.
Residents reported that several buildings near the targeted house, as well as the main road, were occupied by armed men keeping watch over the area. Some of the assailants attempted to break into Mr Paul’s residence before fleeing the scene.
The FCT community remains on edge following the attack, with neighbours expressing concerns about safety and security in the area.
