Kanu Put N100M Bounty On Wike,Imagine Declaring That Anyone Who Killed A Gov Will Get N100M—Olayinka

lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to Nyesom Wike, has criticized calls for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, following his life sentence by the Federal High Court in Abuja for terrorism-related charges.

In a post on his verified Facebook account on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Olayinka recalled that Kanu had previously placed a ₦100 million bounty on Wike during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State. The bounty, he explained, was linked to Kanu’s sit-at-home order in the Southeast and Rivers State, which Wike refused to enforce in his state.

Olayinka emphasized the severity of the act, noting that Kanu had publicly promised the reward to anyone who harmed the then-governor. “Because Wike didn’t allow his sit-at-home in Rivers State then, Nnamdi Kanu placed ₦100m bounty on him,” Olayinka wrote. “Imagine announcing that anyone who killed a governor will collect ₦100m. If it was Mr ONE SHOE that Kanu ordered his men to kill then, he would be defending him now, abi?”

The statement underscores ongoing tensions surrounding IPOB and the debates over Kanu’s incarceration, highlighting concerns about security and the rule of law.
