Woman Returns Home by Surprise, Finds Husband in Bed with Her Daughter Before Being Sent Away

A woman from Kirinyaga County is starting life afresh after a deeply painful family crisis involving her husband and their eldest daughter. Now living in Naivasha, she is focused on rebuilding her future while caring for her younger children.

The family originally moved from Tanzania to Kenya after years of domestic conflict. Hoping for change, the woman agreed to reunite with her husband, and they eventually settled in Nairobi where he worked as a boda boda rider while she took laundry jobs to support the home. Tensions gradually increased when the eldest daughter became difficult to guide, with the father consistently taking the child’s side during disagreements.

According to the mother, the situation worsened over time, straining the marriage and creating constant conflict in the household. Matters reached a breaking point when she returned home one day and encountered behaviour that left her deeply distressed. Feeling unsafe and unsupported, she sought help from their landlord.

The situation escalated, and the woman — pregnant at the time — was eventually asked to leave the residence with her two younger children. Her eldest daughter remained behind with the husband, leaving the mother to navigate life on her own.

She later relocated to Naivasha, where she is gradually working to rebuild her stability. Despite the emotional toll, she says she has chosen to forgive her eldest daughter but will maintain distance to protect her younger children. Her hope now is to start a small business that will help her provide a better future for her family.
