Wambui, a woman from Nakuru, has shared her journey of surviving childhood trauma, sexual assault, and personal struggles, ultimately finding love and stability in marriage. She also revealed that her husband was inexperienced when they married, and she guided him during their honeymoon.
Born and raised in Kiambu, Wambui endured several attempted assaults during her childhood. The fear and trauma made it difficult for her to confide in anyone. After completing secondary school, she moved to Nairobi and worked as a domestic worker before finding employment as a waiter in a café.
While working in the city, she encountered a man from her village who promised to help her secure a better-paying job. Unfortunately, he exploited her, sexually assaulting her in a room under the pretense of introducing her to potential employers. She suffered in silence, afraid of societal judgment. Later, while working at a salon, she was again assaulted through a spiked drink, which left her traumatized and resentful toward men.
Wambui admitted that during this period, she struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide, until a cousin, who is a pastor, intervened and helped her find faith and stability. She eventually met a man she married in a church ceremony. During their honeymoon, she discovered her husband was a virgin, and she guided him in their marital intimacy, marking a new chapter of trust and learning in her life.
Her story is a testament to resilience, faith, and the ability to overcome past trauma to build a stable future.
