In a recent video on Facebook, Popular cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued another blistering warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that his political future—and the stability of the nation—depends on urgent, decisive action to address insecurity. Ayodele said the country’s worsening state of affairs requires immediate intervention from the presidency and the service chiefs.
The cleric cautioned that Tinubu risks losing public support if he continues to delay tough decisions. “Tinubu 2027, you might fail it regardless of whoever that is there as your president or chairman. Take decision,” he warned, stressing that political calculations ahead of the next election should not outweigh national security concerns.
Ayodele painted a grim picture of public sentiment, stating, “Nigeria is bleeding. Nigeria hates you at this moment. Calm down. Take a right decision with your service chiefs. Act. Before it is too late.” He urged the president to demonstrate leadership that matches the urgency of the crisis, especially as terrorism and violent crime persist across the country.
In his message, the cleric also advised Tinubu against relying on foreign military support. “Don’t act when America now comes to assist you. You don’t need America assistance. Don’t be deceived,” he said, insisting that Nigeria’s armed forces have the capacity to defeat terrorism if properly supported.
He questioned whether the welfare and operational needs of the military were being adequately addressed. “Our soldiers can fight terrorism. But are you taking care of them? Are you doing the right things for them? When you are not doing the right thing, how do you want to succeed?” Ayodele asked.
The cleric concluded by stating that his warnings were divinely inspired, leaving the president to decide whether to act on them. “I give you this suggestion as directed by God. You may take it, you may not take it,” he said.
