Please Talk To Us Directly, Not Via Releases Or Officers Meetings, Speak As Our President-Baba -Dr. Hakeem Ahmed

In a recent interview shared by Trust TV, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Vice President, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, delivered a heartfelt message directed at President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, urging him to directly address the growing fears among Nigerians. Baba-Ahmed said the rising levels of insecurity, tension, and public anxiety demand a more personal and reassuring response from the nation’s leader.

According to him, Nigerians are struggling with increased kidnappings, violent attacks, and a general sense of uncertainty that has erupted across communities in recent weeks. He noted that citizens feel abandoned and overwhelmed, especially as schools close, families grieve, and communities continue to live in fear of what may come next. Baba-Ahmed stressed that moments like these require leadership that is visible, present, and emotionally connected to the people.

He emphasized that the president must speak clearly and directly to Nigerians, not through intermediaries or official statements, but in his own voice. “Please sir, talk to us, speak to us, not through press releases, not when you meet military officers or intelligence officers, talk to us as our president.”

Baba-Ahmed explained that such communication would help calm tensions, restore confidence, and assure citizens that the government is fully aware of their struggles and committed to providing solutions. He added that reassurance from the president would strengthen national unity at a time when fear and suspicion are threatening to divide the country.
