A middle-aged man, Paul, has shared the painful experience of spending 12 years in prison after being falsely accused of defiling his landlady’s granddaughter. He revealed that the incident was sparked by his refusal to engage in a sexual advance from the woman.
Paul explained that the ordeal began when he received a call from his landlady while at work, asking him to visit her home upon returning. He initially assumed it was to assist her with her bedridden husband. Upon arrival, he handed his wife a shopping bag of food items and followed the landlady inside.
According to Paul, the landlady sent her granddaughter out to play and propositioned him, citing her husband’s illness and inability to be intimate. When Paul declined, she reportedly threatened him. The following morning, police officers arrived at his home and arrested him on charges of defilement.
With no prior legal experience and unable to afford a lawyer, Paul was convicted and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
