Jacob, a man from Western Kenya, has recounted his remarkable survival story after his grandparents allegedly attempted to end his life due to cultural beliefs about his birth. Despite the traumatic experiences, Jacob has overcome adversity and now serves as a pastor.
Jacob was born to parents who were close relatives. His mother had met his father in Nairobi, and after their relationship became intimate, she returned to her hometown and gave birth to Jacob, whom she named Jim Jacob. Shortly after, the families arranged to meet and discovered that the couple were cousins. According to tradition, children born to close relatives were not expected to survive.
Jacob explained that his grandparents planned to abandon him in a remote forest area, exposing him to wild animals, and also sent him out during the rainy season in hopes that he would be swept away by floods. Miraculously, he returned home unharmed each time, confounding his grandparents.
Eventually, Jacob was left to fend for himself in town. He endured life on the streets but persevered through immense challenges. Today, he has found purpose and stability as a pastor, inspiring others with his story of resilience and faith.
