We Tried To Stop Bandits, But Our Weapons Were No Match For Them As They Were Carrying Guns- Usman

Residents of Biresawa community in Tsanyawa Local Government Area have shared harrowing accounts of a recent attack in which at least five people were kidnapped by heavily armed bandits.

Kabiru Usman, a community member whose family was affected, told reporters that they attempted to confront the attackers but were no match, as the bandits were carrying guns. Another five individuals were reportedly abducted from nearby Tsundu community during the same wave of attacks.

Usman recounted the ordeal in which his wife, Umma; 17-year-old daughter, Fati; his brother’s wife; and two other women were taken. He emphasized the difficulty of resisting the abductors due to their superior firepower.

According to Usman, local residents had prior information about the bandits’ plans and promptly alerted security agencies, including the police and military, using provided contact numbers. Despite these efforts, the attackers successfully carried out the abductions.
