Police in Tel Aviv have temporarily closed a popular nightclub on Rothschild Boulevard after officers were assaulted while responding to a disturbance. Four individuals were arrested following the confrontation, according to reports.
Authorities said officers were called to the club after a fight broke out among patrons. When they arrived, two women attempted to block the police from carrying out their checks. The situation escalated when two men joined in, leading to an alleged physical attack on the officers. Two personnel were later treated for injuries sustained during the incident.
Reinforcement teams arrived moments later, and all four suspects—men and women in their 20s and 30s from Atlit, Rishon Lezion, and Ramat Gan—were taken into custody. Police have listed charges including assault, obstruction, and issuing threats. The nightclub was immediately shut down pending ongoing investigations.
Officials said the suspects are expected to appear in court as police seek an extension of their detention. Investigators are reviewing witness accounts, security footage, and other evidence to understand the full sequence of events.
The incident underscores the tense challenges officers sometimes face when responding to late-night disturbances.
