Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive measures against individuals he claims are fueling instability in Nigeria. In a recent Facebook address, the cleric expressed concern that urgent government action is yet to be implemented despite repeated advisory warnings.
Speaking to the public, Ayodele questioned why the presidency has not issued more forceful directives. “So why is it that the president cannot give an executive order?” he asked, stressing that previous recommendations have been only partially adopted. He insisted that the current situation requires immediate attention, emphasizing, “One by one. But this one, take it serious.”
The cleric alleged that a small group of influential figures is behind unrest and criminal networks that disrupt national peace. “Five personalities. They are the bosses of this thing. And they are still alive,” he claimed, noting that these individuals have not faced legal consequences. Ayodele added, “Even those five personalities are not arrested. There is no mug of wahala,” highlighting what he sees as government inaction.
Challenging fears of international interference, Ayodele urged the government to act confidently. “Anything you like to do, let America come,” he said, signaling that Nigeria should prioritize domestic stability over foreign concerns. He further asserted that the alleged individuals occupy strategic positions within national leadership, adding, “These five personalities, if they are not arrested, nothing will happen. And they are all northerners. And they are in government. They are in every government of this nation.”
