New details have emerged surrounding the death of site engineer Solomon Odeh, who was allegedly assaulted by security operatives before dying, according to his cousin Jackson Eje. Punch News reported the revelations on November 29, 2025.
Jackson explained that Solomon was stopped by security personnel while heading home and accused of involvement in a theft involving missing iron rods. Despite insisting on his innocence, Solomon was reportedly beaten with a machete and other weapons. He later attempted to flee and jumped into a canal, where he succumbed to the injuries inflicted.
The security operatives reportedly admitted that Solomon had already been fatally injured before they created the narrative that he had tried to escape. “The suspects admitted that they attacked my cousin with a machete and various weapons before he tried to escape by running toward the canal,” Jackson said.
Jackson further recounted that when his cousin’s roommate inquired about him, security personnel mentioned that some people had come to steal and someone had escaped—but they did not specify it was Solomon. “We didn’t know it was Solomon,” he added.
