First Time In Our History. And It’s Fully Private Funded – Keyamo On Nigeria’s Debut Air Show

The Federal Government has announced that all preparations are complete for Nigeria’s inaugural International Air Show, scheduled to take place at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the readiness of the venue during an inspection on Friday, November 28, 2025.

Keyamo, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Yakubu Adam Kofamata and top ministry officials, said the event aims to position Nigeria on the global aviation stage alongside renowned shows such as Paris, Farnborough, and Dubai. “This is the first time in our history that we are hosting an international air show,” he stated, noting that it will attract foreign investors, airlines, and aviation partners eager to explore Nigeria’s growing aviation potential.

The air show will feature exhibitions, technical sessions, business meetings, and impressive aerial displays by the Nigerian Air Force during the opening and closing ceremonies. Keyamo stressed that the event is fully funded by the private sector under a Public-Private Partnership model. “Everything you see here today is funded entirely by the private sector… We did not commit federal funds,” he added.

According to Brian Okonkwo, CEO of Nigerian International Airshow Limited, thousands of international attendees and major global aviation companies are expected to participate. The Minister also assured that airspace restrictions will be minimal, lasting only about an hour on the first and last days, ensuring minimal disruption to regular flights.
