Ojo Abiola, a nursing graduate from Kwara State College of Nursing, has shared a terrifying encounter with armed attackers near her church in Oke Ode. According to a report by Punch News on November 30, 2025, the incident occurred just minutes after she arrived for service.
Ojo explained that she had barely settled in at the church when loud, fast, and intense gunshots rang out, creating panic among the congregation. “Just about 10 minutes after I got to the church, we suddenly heard loud gunshots—sharp, fast, intense gunshots—so close that it felt like the shooters were right at the church entrance,” she recalled.
The sudden attack left attendees scrambling for safety. According to Ojo, the church doors were immediately shut to protect those inside, though the abruptness of the assault left little time to react.
She described the situation as instantaneous, with chaos and fear gripping everyone present. Her account highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region and the vulnerability of communities to sudden attacks.
