Samuel Chukwueze Sends Strong Message to Eric Chelle Ahead of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Video

Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has continued to showcase his Premier League form, strengthening his case for a spot in Eric Chelle’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. According to Sky Sports, Chukwueze played a pivotal role as Fulham secured a 2–1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, November 29.

Chukwueze assisted Kenny Tete for Fulham’s opening goal in the fourth minute, setting the tone for the Cottagers’ early dominance. Harry Wilson followed up with a second goal just two minutes later from a Josh King pass. Chukwueze also came close to scoring himself in the 11th minute, hitting the woodwork with a promising effort.

Statistical reports from Livescore show that Chukwueze created two clear chances, made six touches inside Spurs’ penalty area, and completed two successful take-ons in the first half. Tottenham managed a consolation goal through Mohammed Kudus in the 59th minute, but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.

This performance adds to a string of impactful displays, including his decisive assist against Sunderland, where he set up Raúl Jiménez for the winning goal shortly after coming on. Chukwueze has also impressed for Nigeria, providing two assists for Victor Osimhen in a 4–0 win over Benin and featuring in key World Cup playoff matches.

With the Super Eagles preparing for AFCON, scheduled for December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, Chukwueze’s current form gives coach Eric Chelle strong reasons to include him in the provisional squad—especially amid reports that Osimhen could miss the tournament.
