Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Leader of The Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), has made a deeply emotional appeal for peace in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, revealing that he recently knelt before leaders of the Fulani socio-cultural group, Miyetti Allah, to plead for an end to ongoing violence. The report was covered by Channels TV on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Known for his vocal stance against Christian persecution in Plateau State, Rev. Dachomo explained that the worsening communal crisis has reached a point where extraordinary measures are necessary to protect local communities. “All my aim, my target is for us to have peace for years, and it has reached a stage that I have to kneel down before my fellow Fulanis, Miyetti Allah, and beg them, because they are the ones to give us peace and that is undiluted. The truth,” he said.
The cleric lamented the irony that while his community has consistently promoted harmony, they remain the primary victims of attacks. He detailed the plea he made to the Fulani leaders: “We have always given them the truth, the peace that they needed. We have given them for years, and they know. I begged them on my knees. Please, you know, on our side we have been supplying peace to you, but on your side, you are supplying crisis to us.”
Rev. Dachomo’s disclosure underscores the desperation of communities affected by persistent insecurity and the extraordinary lengths to which local leaders feel compelled to go in order to secure safety and stability. His statements have sparked renewed discussions about communal relations and security in the region.
