North: The Terrorists And Bandits Unleashing Mayhem In The Region Are Majorly From The Region – Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has called on Northern Governors to urgently address the rising insecurity in the region, noting that a recent meeting of the governors was long overdue. This was reported by Daily Post on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Sani highlighted that the wave of terrorism and banditry continues to terrorize communities across the North, creating fear and instability for residents. He emphasized that most of the perpetrators responsible for these attacks are local criminals and terrorists originating from within the region.

“The ongoing meeting of Northern Governors in Kaduna to address the region’s recent upsurge in terrorist violence is long overdue,” Sani stated. “The terrorists and bandits unleashing mayhem in the region are majorly from the region. They should come out with coordinated, effective and practical solutions that will annihilate the criminals and restore peace and order in the affected communities.”

The former senator urged the governors to ensure the discussions go beyond mere dialogue, calling for tangible strategies that dismantle criminal networks while protecting innocent civilians. He stressed the importance of collaboration with security agencies and local communities to implement preventive measures.

Sani’s appeal reflects the growing frustration of residents who have faced repeated attacks and abductions, often in areas bordering multiple states. Coordinated efforts, he said, are essential for ending the cycle of violence and restoring stability across Northern Nigeria.
