Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party chieftain, Peter Obi, has addressed questions from Lagos youths about why he has remained silent regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambassadorial nominee list.
Speaking on his official X account on December 1, 2025, Obi explained that his silence stems from the deep pain he feels witnessing the daily struggles of ordinary Nigerians while seeing what he described as reckless insensitivity from those in leadership.
Obi also questioned the qualifications of many of the nominees, stressing that he wants Nigerians to remain hopeful and resilient. “There is a pain that words cannot fully describe, when you see the suffering of ordinary Nigerians and compare it to the reckless insensitivity displayed by those entrusted with leadership,” he wrote.
He told the youths that despite his disappointment, he encourages them not to give up and to continue advocating for accountability and competent leadership.
