Nollywood actress and filmmaker Nkechi Blessing Sunday has stirred conversations online after openly declaring that she has no interest in controlling a man in any relationship.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Nkechi explained that despite assumptions about her personality, she is not domineering. According to her, she is naturally soft, feminine, and prefers to follow a man’s lead rather than take charge.
She recalled a past relationship where her partner was firm, confident, and unapologetically assertive — qualities she said she admired and happily submitted to.
Nkechi stressed that financial provision does not determine a man’s authority, noting that even if a man gives or doesn’t give, she still believes in respecting his role as the leader of the home.
In her words:
“My last ex is not afraid of me. He tells me to sit, and I sit. I cannot control a man — I’m a woman. I’m soft, I want to be feminine. Why do you think I can control a man? Even though you give me or not, you’re still a man. I want to be under your control. I want to listen to you.”
