We Will Not Negotiate With Criminals, We Have The Capacity To Deal With Them – Kogi Govt

The Kogi State government has stated unequivocally that it will not negotiate with criminals operating within the state, asserting its readiness to tackle rising insecurity head-on.

Speaking at a press briefing in the state capital, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, stressed that terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities will not be tolerated. “We are not in the business of negotiating with criminals; we have the capacity to deal with them. Our focus is on taking decisive action against those who threaten peace and stability in our state,” he said.

Fanwo outlined measures the government is implementing to enhance security, including increased deployment of security personnel, improved surveillance systems, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with law enforcement agencies. He also called on citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, emphasizing that community involvement is key to preventing crime.

“Our administration is dedicated to creating an environment where people can live without fear and businesses can thrive,” Fanwo added. He reassured the public that the government is committed to restoring peace and confidence across Kogi State.
