Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has shared personal reflections on the values guiding his political journey, revealing the lessons he imparts to his children about life, responsibility, and national service.
Speaking during a meeting with the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at his Abuja residence, Atiku explained that he frequently reminds his children that he has already lived his own life. He emphasized that his current political engagements are motivated by the desire to create a better future for them and for all Nigerian youths.
“What I used to tell my children is this: ‘Look, I have lived my own life; everything I am doing now is for you and for the future of this country,’” Atiku said, highlighting the importance of generational responsibility in leadership.
The meeting brought together ADC state chairmen from all 36 states and the FCT, led by Kogi State Chairman Hon. Ogga Temitope Kingsley, who welcomed Atiku’s formal registration as a member of the party. Atiku expressed his pleasure in joining the ADC at a time he considers crucial for Nigeria’s political realignment.
He further urged ADC leaders to strengthen strategic organization, grassroots mobilization, and unity, stressing that the nation’s current challenges require leaders focused on securing a stable and prosperous future for the next generation.
