Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, to adopt a proactive and firm approach in tackling the country’s growing security challenges.
In a recent interview on December 2, 2025, Ayodele stressed that the situation has reached a critical point, urging the minister to act decisively against insurgents, bandits, and other security threats. He warned that delays could not only worsen public safety but also attract scrutiny from international partners, including the United States.
The cleric emphasized the need for leadership, accountability, and coordination among security agencies. “Musa, when you get there, tell them enough is enough, go all out,” he stated, highlighting the urgency of the task and the expectation for results-driven action to restore peace and public confidence.
Ayodele further appealed to Nigerians to support lawful measures designed to curb insecurity and ensure the safety of communities across the nation. He noted that only sustained and focused efforts by the Defence Ministry and security forces would achieve meaningful improvements.
