Former DSS Director Mike Ejiofor has suggested that banditry and insurgent attacks increased in Nigeria following the removal of former Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa, praising his recent appointment as Minister of Defence.
During an interview with Channels TV, Ejiofor noted his surprise at Musa’s earlier dismissal and observed that security challenges—including kidnappings and attacks—escalated in his absence. He commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Musa as Defence Minister, citing the general’s prior experience as Chief of Defence Staff.
Ejiofor highlighted Musa’s leadership credentials, emphasizing his seniority, command experience, and ability to coordinate effectively with other service chiefs. He described Musa as outspoken, results-driven, and committed to mission accomplishment, asserting that his leadership commands respect among military personnel.
