Before President Took Office, There Were Prison Breaks, Kidnappings In Abuja And We Stopped It–Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, has outlined what he describes as progress in Nigeria’s security situation during an interview with Channels Television. He acknowledged ongoing challenges while emphasizing improvements in areas previously plagued by criminal activity.

Bwala noted that the administration inherited a complex security landscape with multiple threats across the country. He highlighted a decline in certain violent crimes within the Federal Capital Territory, stating: “Before the president became president there were prison breaks and daylight kidnappings in Abuja and we stopped it.” He attributed the improvements to coordinated operations and intelligence-driven strategies.

While asymmetric threats such as banditry and terrorism remain difficult to eradicate, Bwala pointed to successful rescue operations and the arrest of high-profile suspects as indicators that the government is actively responding to insecurity.

He urged Nigerians to recognize both the complexities of the situation and the steps taken to address them, asserting that President Tinubu remains fully committed to strengthening national security and restoring public confidence across the country.
