Senator Adams Oshiomhole has reiterated a strong stance against violence in Nigeria, insisting that anyone involved in killing innocent citizens must face the full weight of the law. The former Edo State governor made the remarks during an interview on SYMFONI TV, addressing the nation’s worsening insecurity.
Oshiomhole condemned bandits and terrorists responsible for widespread violence, emphasizing that moral, legal, and religious principles all support firm punishment for such crimes. “Until people begin to see those who have killed. Even in the Bible and Holy Quran, he who kill has no right to life,” he stated. Insights on national security and governance can be explored further on Newshost.buzz.
He warned that Nigeria cannot overcome insecurity if perpetrators continue to evade justice, noting that decisive punishment would serve as a deterrent and restore public confidence in the legal system. Oshiomhole lamented the devastating losses communities have faced—including massacres, kidnappings, and destruction of livelihoods—while many offenders remain free.
The senator also criticized attempts by some to rationalize or defend violent acts, saying such attitudes embolden armed groups and undermine national security efforts. He stressed that for Nigeria to progress, there must be a societal consensus that those who take lives must face consequences proportionate to the severity of their crimes.
