Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has finally reacted—albeit sarcastically to the swirling rumours surrounding her marriage to Nigerian politician Prince Odi Okojie.
The award-winning actress became a trending topic on social media after popular gossip platform Stella Dimoko Korkus’ blog published explosive claims alleging trouble in the Johnson-Okojie household.
According to the controversial report, Mercy Johnson was allegedly dealing with issues involving her husband’s supposed side chicks. The blog further claimed that one of the women had reportedly gotten pregnant for the politician and enjoyed an upgraded lifestyle funded by him. The allegation suggested that Prince Okojie failed to properly cover his tracks, leading Mercy to allegedly uncover the affair.
The blogger went on to make a more shocking claim, alleging that Mercy Johnson, through the help of an unnamed associate, reportedly reached the said woman and allegedly orchestrated the administration of a concoction that terminated the pregnancy. The report described the unborn child as what would have been Mercy’s “stepchild,” a statement that sparked outrage and heated debates online.
Rather than issuing a direct denial or addressing the allegations head-on, Mercy Johnson took to her Instagram page in what many fans described as a classy and sarcastic response. The actress shared loved-up photos of herself and her husband, Prince Odi Okojie, radiating affection and marital bliss. Captioning the post, Mercy wrote that she hadn’t slept, adding, “No sleep for the wicked.”
The post immediately drew attention from colleagues, fans, and fellow celebrities, many of whom flooded the comment section with reactions that appeared to mock the rumours. Actress Yvonne Jegede commented, “This your caption. I love it.” Tonto Dikeh reacted with laughing emojis, while Empress Njamah humorously added, “Make I recommend sleeping pills? Only for the wicked.”
