Firefighters, assisted by residents, endeavoured to bring the blaze under control.
This is the third time fire has wreaked havoc in the Ashanti Region within just three days.
The Fire Service indicated that they faced challenges in combating the fire due to a malfunctioning fire branch on the only available fire tender, which resulted in water leakage and hindered containment efforts.
In spite of these obstacles, personnel succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to other areas of the market.
Residents supported fire personnel by assisting in extinguishing the flames, which contributed to the eventual containment of the fire.
The Fire Service confirmed that the situation is now under control, and no injuries have been reported.
