Former Super Eagles midfielder Henry Nwosu has passed away at the age of 62, leaving behind a legacy that shaped Nigerian football history.
The news was confirmed by his former teammate, Segun Odegbami, on social media on Saturday.
Odegbami revealed that Nwosu had been hospitalized for five days, receiving intensive care at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.
“Henry Nwosu passes away! After five days in hospital battling for his life, the one I call ‘Youngest Millionaire’ passed away at 4:00 am this morning at LASUTH, where he had been in intensive care since Wednesday,” Odegbami wrote.
He added, “It is with deep pain in my heart that I have to be the conveyor of the news of the death of Henry Nwosu, MON. May he rest peacefully with our Creator in Heaven.”
